The Mundial Group Print Properties Go Online Becoming Zinio's First US-Based Spanish Sports Digital Magazine
Zinio To Launch Boxeo Mundial Magazine Worldwide
New York (February 2, 2009) - After seven years of publishing Fútbol Mundial, (World Soccer), The Mundial Group, a multimedia sports publishing company based in New York, is adding a digital platform to its distribution model through an exclusive supplier deal with Zinio, a global online publishing and distribution services company.
In addition to Fútbol Mundial magazine, The Mundial Group also publishes Beísbol Mundial (World Baseball) and Boxeo Mundial (World Boxing). Each of its magazines is inserted into every major Hispanic newspaper in the US, surpassing over 1 million in reach. The first digital edition from the Mundial Group to go live on Zinio's global newsstand www.zinio.com and be made available through Zinio's distribution network will be Boxeo Mundial magazine, a magazine that premiered in December '08 for the MGM fight in Los Vegas between "Oscar de la Hoya vs. Manny Pacquiao."
The Mundial Group based its decision to go digital on recent statistics that conclude that nearly 16 million Hispanics have access to the internet, that the US Hispanic internet user growth outpaces that of the General Market, and most importantly that sports sites are the 3rd most visited by Hispanics .
